Evidence oriented scientific arena today relies heavily on numbers. However, there are areas specially those related to complex ways of human thinking and behaviour in real life situations need an additional approach to be explored. Relevant numbers are simply not adequate and may not reach the deeper aspect of multifaceted human interactions and intricate phenomena associated with. Consequently, many solutions formulated through merely reducing numbers appear ineffective. Qualitative research methodology allows a researcher to have an in depth understanding of such real life complexities and assists to come up with solution that could be more cost effective. This introductory course would equip a researcher with tools and approaches necessary for such exploration and understanding. It will primarily imprint an overview of qualitative research as an independent scientific method of investigation in the cognitive domain.
