Clinical Sciences

Working both in our hospitals and in the community, the Clinical Sciences Division at ICDDR,B conducts clinical studies on diarrhoeal illnesses, respiratory infections, nutrition and child development. It provides a wide variety of clinical services - ranging from the treatment of diarrhoeal illnesses and associated health problems to preventative strategies, such as immunization and health and nutrition education.

Training efforts aim to build capacity by teaching researchers how to correctly apply research methods and by teaching health practitioners how to properly manage diarrhoea-related health problems. Provision of theoretical and hands-on training on case management of diarrhoeal diseases and associated health problems, and research methodology are also important activities.
