Introduction:

Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) is a computer programme used for survey authoring and deployment, data mining, text analytics, statistical analysis, and collaboration. SPSS is among the most widely used programmes for statistical analysis in social science. It is used by market researchers, health researchers, survey companies, government, education researchers, marketing organisations and others.

This is a 30 hours (10 days) intensive course and is primarily designed to enhance the data analysing capacity and competencies of participants who are directly experienced in data analytical activities or somehow involved with managing these activities.

Course Objectives

At the end of the training participants will able to:

  • Describe basic concept of Statistics and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS)
  • Explain data manipulation and data transformation
  • Develop skills in computing description statistics
  • Develop skills in creating Graphs and X tables using data from various sources
  • Apply various methods such as: Testing Hypothesis, Correlation, Regression analysis and Analysis of Variance for analysis of data to secure outputs
