My research focuses on risk factors of non-communicable diseases eg; CVDs and Diabetes and preventive measures with special focuses on nutrition, physical activity and obesity. I have experience of conducting different research projects related to NCD that include community and health system based management of hypertension and diabetes; lifestyle intervention for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM); childhood obesity intervention; early life exposure to famine and metabolic syndrome; chronic respiratory diseases; indoor air pollution and its cardiopulmonary health effects; and nutritional intervention during pregnancy. I am interested in developing complex intervention to prevent and control childhood obesity in Bangladesh and non-pharmacological (lifestyle and nutritional) intervention for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and other non-communicable diseases.Â
