My research focuses on sexuality, sexual behaviors, sexual health, masculinity, gender and STI, HIV and AIDS. I have worked with both general and marginalized vulnerable populations such as male and female sex workers, males who have sex with males, transgender women and people who inject drugs. I also worked with migrant populations, rickshaw pullers, national and internal seamen and dock workers. I have applied multidisciplinary social sciences approaches (i.e., sociological, anthropological and behavioral theories and perspectives) in these areas of research.
Based on evidence, I am involved in designing and implementing HIV and sexual health interventions within the framework of implementation science. In this endeavor, my work involves various government bodies and civil society organizations in terms of enhancing their technical capacities through participatory and appreciative monitoring and evaluation systems. Thus, our research findings are translated into evidence based actions and policy formulations. Â
