“I want to contribute to global health by bridging the inequality in healthcare access for autoimmune, neurodegenerative and rare diseases.”

I studied Medicine (MBBS) at Mymensingh Medical College at the University of Dhaka. After completing my medical degree, followed by a one-year internship, I started my residency in internal medicine at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the largest medical institute in Bangladesh, strengthening my clinical medicine base. During the early phase of my career, I got practical exposure to all tiers of the health systems of a developing country like Bangladesh and obtained a holistic understanding of healthcare services and health systems. I witnessed the pitfalls of health systems practically and found myself doing a clerical job of writing prescriptions, whereas the patients could hardly afford those medications. So, I decided to contribute to evidence synthesis through high-quality research and subsequently contribute to national and global health policy. I am interested in working on autoimmune, neurodegenerative and orphan/rare diseases, which have remained underestimated and unfocused over centuries.
