Library membership options

icddr,b's library offers the following types of membership for external users:

• Personal membership: The library maintains a personal membership system for outside library users on a one calendar year renewal basis at the rate of Tk 1,000.00 for general membership and Tk 450.00‑ for student (unemployed student up to Masters level) membership.
• Corporate membership: An organisation can become a corporate member by paying an annual membership fee of Tk. 600.00 for each employee, but must have a minimum of 10 members to enjoy the facility of the reduced membership fee. The benefits of membership are the same as those applicable to individual members.
• Institutional membership: The library maintains an institutional membership system on an annual renewal basis. An organisation, either local or foreign origin or a foreign organisation located in Bangladesh, may be enrolled as an institutional member of LISS on payment of an annual subscription fee of US$ 500.00 or an equivalent amount in local currency.

Library use by external researchers

With library membership, reading facilities are offered to external researchers, physicians, teachers, and students, but reading materials and audiovisual items cannot be borrowed.
