I am a public health researcher from Bangladesh dedicated to address complex global and local environmental health problems. My research experience (as an investigator) includes intervention studies evaluating cardiovascular and respiratory health effects of household air pollution, different cook-stoves and saline intrusion in coastal regions. I have implemented population based longitudinal studies on Hypertension, Diabetes and Chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) in rural and urban settings of Bangladesh. I am involved in a NIH (U01) grant exploring pre-clinical markers of cardiopulmonary and immune dysfunctions related to household air pollution. My career goal is to develop myself as an independent researcher focusing environmental risk factors and prevention of cardiopulmonary diseases and cancer.
