My research interest includes gender aspects of health, violence against women and girls and consequences of violence on women and their children, and women’s empowerment. Currently I am involved in a project aiming to generate evidence in what works for reducing intimate partner violence and also work place violence against female garment workers. I am working with a project which aiming to see the impact of early life adverse exposures including maternal stress biomarkers and inflammation during pregnancy on stress and allostatic load, inflammation, telomere attrition, and health outcomes in children from rural Bangladesh. I am also involved with the 2015 national violence against women survey where icddr,b providing technical support to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) in analyzing data and producing the national survey report. My other research interests include maternal and child health.
