“Through my work I want to strengthen knowledge and the skills necessary to become an independent researcher in clinical epidemiology focusing on low- and middle-income countries.”
I am coordinating multiple phase 1/2/3 clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a monoclonal antibody called ANX005 among the patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome in Bangladesh. As Research Investigator at the Laboratory Sciences and Services Division, I have participated in multiple projects on GBS and continued to improve my experimental skills and research potential particularly in the field of advance epidemiology, data management, statistical analysis and clinical trials. Previously I have participating in several community based projects of icddr,b in Chandpur and Dhaka. Over the years I have developed a strong background in clinical medicine and basic epidemiology.
Why I work at icddr,b:
At icddr,b I have the opportunity to engage and utilise my skills to the best of my capabilities. The types of projects icddr,b engages in are very fascinating and there is also something new I can learn or engage in. Once you get the flavor of working at icddr,b you cannot imagine working at some other organisation.
Future Plans:
In the future I want to continue my work on GBS, and want to upgrade myself as a Clinical Trial and Prognostic Model Expert especially focusing on LMIC. My career goal is to strengthen knowledge and skills necessary to become an independent researcher in clinical epidemiology in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC).
