An anthropologist and cultural epidemiologist working in the arena of social and public health research and development, training and program implementation on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases (e.g., Nipah, avian influenza, Japanese encephalitis, COVID-19), water and sanitation (e.g., hepatitis-E, diarrheal diseases), maternal & child health, and gender & development in Bangladesh. Extensive experience in public health research including anthropological research, quantitative survey, monitoring and evaluation of program, policy focus research, economic burden studies, community-based behavior change intervention trial and outbreak investigation of diseases. My research interests also include the design and implementation of behaviour change interventions to prevent infectious diseases, both in community and hospital settings.
