Since 2012, my work has been focused primarily on tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections. My current research work is mainly focused on the development and evaluation of diagnostic tools for early detection of tuberculosis and as well as anti-tuberculosis drug susceptibility, molecular typing and transmission analysis of tuberculosis, and exploration of the molecular mechanism of anti-tuberculosis drug resistance. Involving in various research projects on tuberculosis, I am leading laboratory activities and supervising researchers working on molecular assays, culture, and serology. I am also interested to understand the correlation between Mycobacterium tuberculosis genotypes and host susceptibility, identify new vaccine candidates and understand the molecular basis of virulence and immunity to support vaccine development.
